Job description: The position of Commercial executive shall be responsible for the implementation and management of financial controls and processes within the service and maintenance department.

This position shall also act in close liaison with the service account management team and project delivery team to ensure that all activities are undertaken in a profitable and commercially viable manner in compliance with group polices.

You will have obtained experience in a previous commercial executive or management account role, and possess a superior accounting knowledge within, ideally, a service and maintenance delivery business.

You will have the ability to review raw data, generate trend patterns and implement improvement plans to enable the business to meet its targeted revenue and margin expectations.

Ideally you will also have an understanding of accounting packages and processes and CASH for windows knowledge/experience would be advantageous, however not essential.

You will also possess the skills to work with the service account management and project management teams on a day to day basis, challenge current working practice, and develop robust controls to ensure commercial and financial delivery in line with business expectations.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
XEnsure all invoicing is issued in a timely manner to maximise cash flow.
XReview all outstanding Department debts and debtors and work in conjunction with the Commercial Department and the Accounts Department to ensure prompt resolution and recovery of outstanding invoices.
XProduce regular reports highlighting Client payment issues and escalate to the RGM to enable any necessary actions / restrictions to be put in place.
XAttend monthly or regularly agreed meetings with Service Acc and PM teams and / or their representatives to conduct full financial reviews of service / delivery contracts.
XProduce and issue monthly financial management reports.
XFrom a commercial perspective, support the production of quotations for service contracts & support the production of quotations for system additions, upgrades and replacements.
XUndertake monthly reviews with Service AM and PMs to ascertain profitability of current contracts
XUndertake financial reviews with Service AM to ensure profitability of on-going/delivered small works/minor installations and system upgrades.
XIn conjunction with the Regional General Manager, prepare and produce monthly Departmental financial reports to support the Businesss accounting requirements.
XPrepare reports, budgets, commentaries and financial statements.
XUndertake all necessary financial administration and regular internal audits.
XIn conjunction with the RGM and CD, develop and manage the financial systems and policies required by the Department / business.
XIn conjunction with the RGM, generate and submit business cases to support the growth of the Department and provide all necessary substantiation in order to obtain financial approval.
XDevelop management systems for the control and forecasting of Departmental income and expenditure.
XSupport the RGM in creating business strategies that provide continuous commercial benefit to the business.

Candidate profile: The role holder will be responsible for financial management and implementation of controls and processes within our Service & Maintenance department. The ideal candidate will be an experienced commercial executive or management accountant who has a good knowledge of accounting, ideally gained within a service delivery environment.
