Job description: The Company
Our client is one of the worlds largest providers of public services to Governments. The services they provide are often of critical importance. They seek a Head of Resilience - Safety and Security to
maintain resilience standards (Safety & Security) within the Justice & Immigration Business Unit in accordance with corporate, contractual and regulatory requirements.
In this significant role the Head of Resilience will be responsible for protecting and preserving J&I assets and resources from security and safety-related threats that impact individuals, business activities and the company reputation. The Head of Resilience is responsible for providing advice, guidance and assurance that effective resilience management (Safety & Security) is in place across all (J&I) contracts.

The Role:
To provide the leadership, direction and oversight across the J&I BU to ensure senior leaders, contract staff and support functions support, understand and adopt corporate, contractual and regulatory requirements relating to operational resilience.
To lead a team of HS&E and Security professionals in line with the MyHR operating model, developing resilience, talent and succession.
To direct and oversee risk-based H,S&E &Security activities in order to bring about and maintain Organisational Resilience within the J&I BU.
To provide timely, accurate and competent resilience advice necessary to support the effective, efficient delivery of current and future J&I business outputs.
To provide the J&I BU SMT with HS&E & Security reports, statistics data and advice in order to inform decision-making.
To direct, oversee and advise upon on appropriate measures necessary to manage strategic and operational resilience (safety & security) risks. To include:
The evaluation of the BU/Contract exposure to current/future security threats.
The implementation of appropriate, effective risk mitigation measures.
The interpretation and implementation of corporate, regulatory and legal policies.

Candidate profile: The Person:
The successful candidate will have recent (proven) managerial, leadership experience working in a senior Health & Safety or Organisational Resilience role, with either a NEBOSH or IOSH qualification and be Certified Security Management Professional (CSMP) or equivalent.
A complete appreciation of the risks and regulatory requirements which exist across the J&I sector.
The proven ability to communicate and influence senior leaders and managers in order to plan and deliver a high quality resilience service.
People Management Evidence of a proven ability manage and lead a team of managers and/or specialists.
Influencing Personal Impact - Ability to influence, command respect and gain commitment of others.
Forward Thinking Proven ability to make choices and judgements based upon strategic objectives.
Change Proven ability to lead and bring about transformational change.
Experience of working within a custodial / secure environment will be considered an advantage.

Key responsibilities and challenges

Health and Safety

Provide support to the Health and Safety team to support the company's activities and undertaking to ensure that they meet its obligations under Health, Safety and Welfare legislation by:

Administering the health and safety systems for workstation assessments and ensuring that follow up action is undertaken.
Ensuring the H&S intranet page is kept up to date.
Undertaking the ordering of equipment and supplies to support the risk assessment process. Supports this process by recording orders and processing invoices in accordance with accounting processes.
Provide first line advice and support via the Health and Safety support line and e-mail link.
Administering health and safety training for; Fire Safety, First Aid etc.
Undertake risk assessments incl DSE, expectant mother etc.
Undertaking regular inspections of pre-determined areas of the building and take action to resolve issues.
Support the Health and wellbeing programme incl running the Global Challenge.
Liaise with our HR teams to maintain awareness of current issues and trends.
Assisting with the collation of global H&S information to feed in to our OHSMS.
Any other activities to support the wider health and safety team

Candidate profile: The ideal candidate:

Education / Qualification

NEBOSH General Certificate in Health and Safety

Practical experience

An understanding of UK health and safety law
Previously undertaken DSE assessments
An understanding of OHSH18001 systems
Experience of maintaining internal budgets
Previous experience in a Corporate environment

Office skills

IT literate (Microsoft office)
