Job description: This national fire & security systems installer require a regional sales manager for the London area. The primary objective of the role will be to identify and develop new business while maintaining long term profitable relationships with the existing customer base. The RSM will plan, manage and control the overall strategic marketing and sales direction for the region, working with the sales director, sales engineers, account managers and the rest of the team to achieve agreed sales and financial objectives of the company. Further responsibilities will include personnel development, recruitment of staff, monitoring of sales forecasts , compliance of bid submission and as part of the senior management the successful applicant will have to actively contribute in all business meetings. The position comes with a basic salary of ©£60,000 plus commission, car/allowance and benefits package (negotiable). This is a great opportunity to join a leading systems installer.

FIA certification in Design & Advanced Design to BS5839-1:2002 Fully conversant & able to apply BS5839 Parts 1, 6 & 8, BS6266 & NHS Firecode HTM 05-03. Ability to apply the requirements of other related standards in associated disciplines.A good understanding of Contract Law & Agreement, plus awareness of Health & Safety, CDM & PPE requirements.

Responsibilities

Leading and coaching an established team of National Sales Managers and support staff in developing B2B sales. The key objective is managing the team in the acquisition and retention of desirable and profitable new business in accordance with Company growth targets and objectives.

Tasks & Duties

• Day to day management, motivation and development of National Sales Managers, including setting targets, quarterly appraisals and performance management.

• To motivate the sales team to establish and progress new business pipelines capable of sustaining monthly, quarterly and annual growth targets.

• Proactive identification and development of new business opportunities, primarily within the manned guarding sector but also the other associated security services.

• Identify ways to improve cross selling of security and associated services within the company and across the existing portfolio of Group clients.

• Creation of plans to aid the growth and retention of existing clients.

• Overseeing the annual contract renewal processes.

• To work with the central Marketing team to promote awareness of the company brand and services across all existing and prospect clients.

• Establishing effective communication channels with all internal stakeholders including, Directors, Operations, Training, HR and Finance.

• Overseeing the production of monthly pipeline management reports and other management information.

• Design and compilation of client focussed, solutions led tenders and proposals.

• Production and delivery of new business presentations, working with Finance, Systems and Operations to produce commercial cost models and contract negotiations.

• Maintain the highest professional standards as an employee of the company, ensuring that a total quality approach is adopted towards work colleagues and clients.

• To work alongside the other members of the Executive team, providing leadership and direction to the business.

• To undertake any other reasonable duty as requested by the Managing Director.

• Achievement of the team’s monthly, quarterly and annual sales targets

• Pro-active sales approach to aid the growth and retention of existing client accounts

• Improving margins and success ratios of new business proposals wins to losses

Candidate profile: With previous experience of leading a sales team, the successful candidate will be able to demonstrate a successful track record in large (c£1M+), solutions led, B2B sales from within the professional services sector.

The successful candidate will be highly skilled in all sectors of the sales cycle including pro-actively managing new business development pipelines, tender preparation, presentations and client negotiations. They will possess excellent commercial acumen skills and be used to working with complex pricing models on multi-million pound bids.

Personality Profile

The successful candidate will be of smart appearance and ambitious for further success. Networking easily at board level, they will possess a high degree of personal gravitas and be capable of adopting an analytical and consultative approach to new business development.

The successful candidate will also demonstrate an ability to challenge industry norms where appropriate, and recognise the business critical importance of embracing innovation and value adding services in to all proposals.
This role will suit a candidate who is a proficient people manager and coach and who is prepared to lead both from the front and by example.
