Job description: Responsible for security services at an exploration camp in Mali. The location is confidential at this time but it is NOT in the red zone or conflict areas of the country. This role manages the unarmed private security force at the camp and ensures security service delivery to drillers in the field. Coordinates government forces co-located with the project as armed protection. Plans and supervises resupply convoys and other requirements as directed. Implements crisis management SOPs if required. Responsible for sharing the workload with other expat security consultants on the assignment and this will include static, mobile, day and night routines.

Package in full:
Rate of pay is USD$400 daily, paid monthly in arrears
Half rate on travel days
Per diem provided when transiting in Bamako, no per diem while at the camp on task
Economy air travel will be provided
Inoculations and yellow fever cert must be current. Any boosters and meds required will be reimbursed
Local mobile phone provided in theatre
Medical, PA insurance provided
When at the camp the consultant will share a room with another expat. Meals, laundry and other life support will be provided by the camp. Some short R&R cycles will occur at points
Rotation is forecast to be 28 November 2017 14 January 2018. Extensions are possible if this rotation goes well for all parties involved
Candidate profile: Bilingual English and French speaking able to converse locally. Military experience highly desired; conditions at the camp are still austere whilst this new project gathers pace
Medical and FPOS qualifications required
Driving license required (note the consultant is not expected to drive but has to supervise a driver at times)
Commercial security experience working with local personnel highly desired, preferably in Africa
Commercial security experience of onshore ore or gas drilling desirable but not essential
Weapons handling proficiency in 9 mm pistol and AK-47 is required. This role is armed once local licensing requirements have been satisfied, you must supply a current criminal records check from your country of origin.
Physically, medically and dentally fit previous consultants have taken PT with the security force. This is not a formal requirement but fitness to the task is expected. There is a medical support plan in the camp and additional support is available
Good demeanour, ready to muck in with the troops or provide expert advice and calm assistance to client leadership is required at all times
This project is an expeditionary frontier operation and so flexibility is expected at all times without exception

Primary Objectives
