This marine fire systems manufacturer is looking to recruit a further designer/estimator to join their team based in North Surrey (hybrid working available). The successful applicant will be responsible for estimating the design, supply and commissioning of new fire detection and protection systems, system upgrades and modifications to a variety of ships and vessels, as well as offshore assets. Working with the sales team, the successful applicant will produce accurate estimates to fixed bid dates, preparing proposals for fire alarm and suppression systems. Other responsibilities include evaluating fire systems for functionality, designing new systems or updating existing systems, and assisting the sales teams and client liaison to gain all the information needed or for clarification required for quotes.
Applicants for this role will need:
• A degree in Electrical engineering or suitable experience.
• BS5839 Fire Detection (and ideally BS6266 Fire Protection) qualifications.
• Fire Detection equipment application knowledge.
• Proficient with AutoCAD.
• Capable of working independently and to strict timescales to meet customers' requirements.
This interesting and quite unusual role comes with a basic salary of £50,000 plus car allowance, hybrid working and package with a pension match of 7%, life assurance, and various other benefits. Training for marine systems and product training will be available.
