This fire detection and AOV systems installer and service provider is looking to recruit a service and maintenance engineer to cover the London area. The successful applicant will be responsible for the servicing, breakdowns, and testing of fire alarm systems across a wide variety of client sites. Applicants must be able to identify and recommend action for faulty or redundant systems and where necessary, repair/replace system components to remove repetitive issues and ensure durability. The role requires the ability to maintain fire alarm systems and smoke venting systems on occupied developments and emergency call-out basis in line with contracted expectations. In order to successfully carry out this role you will require an understanding of fire detection systems (Kentec and Advance panels), smoke ventilation systems, inverters and dampers, candidates with good detection skills will be offered training on smoke venting systems.
Responsibilities
• Maintaining of Fire Alarm and AOV systems (training will be given on AOV’s if needed)
• Good knowledge of BS5839
• Offering a comprehensive service to our customers in accordance with British Standards in a defined area.
• Inclusion on out of hours call out rota (currently one week in every eight)
• Ability to work from schematics and drawings
• Ability to fault-find issues
• Liaise with development on-site Concierge / Building managers, Property managers, Design, Project Management and Installation and Commissioning departments
• Ongoing job role administration inclusive of daily report sheets, supplying the maintenance office-based staff with full equipment details of any faulty equipment, timesheets, vehicle checklists, expense forms etc.
• Understanding of smoke venting and fire alarm systems to BS5839 and BS7436 standards

This excellent opportunity to work for an independent installer comes with a basic salary of £40,000 plus bonus, overtime, call out, vehicle and other benefits. An AAE in excess of £55,000 is expected.
