Security Vetting Advisor to £35k + Benefits
Based Bristol – Hybrid

This is an exceptional opportunity to work for our client, a global tech organisation who seek a Security Vetting Advisor to provide SME advice and guidance to line managers & project leads in personnel security matters and administer vetting applications via UKSV portal, monitoring the status of applications, providing status reports as required, identifying and escalating risk and issues to the Head of Security.

The Role

  • Responsible for all aspects of Personnel Security Clearances including verifying information, transferring, new application sponsorship, changes of circumstances and international visitors.
  • Provide leadership, SME advice and guidance to line managers & project leads in personnel security matters.
  • Administer vetting applications via UKSV portal, continually monitoring the status of applications, providing status reports as required, identifying and escalating risk and issues to the Head of Security.
  • Ensuring all internal Security Clearance processes and systems have accurate and updated data.
  • Management of the Secure Reception area, management of staff and visitors accessing the area.
  • Assist HR Team by ensuring timely completion of vetting applications for new starters and support personnel security training as part of onboarding process.
  • Support the Head of Security with Security Administration, including Security Aspects to Subcontractors, maintaining records and spreadsheets, helping with Security communications, distributing company security instructions.
  • Supporting and providing cover for Bristol main reception, and assisting with front of house duties when required.


The Person
  • Previous experience of Security Vetting processes for BPSS, SC and DV level clearances.
  • Experience of working within a UK Government security environment or Defence sector.
  • Experience of working with International Visits Control Office (IVCO) processes.
  • Familiar with security compliance requirements contained within HMG Security Policy Framework and other Personnel/ Vetting legislation, policy, and guidance.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Customer focussed with relationship building skills.
  • Good planning, organisational, administrative, and presentational skills.
  • Ability to meet tight deadlines and respond quickly to time critical situations.
  • Computer literate (Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word).
  • Team Player.
