Our client seeks a Risk & Assurance Manager to support the company to be the leading UK public sector business services provider. The Role
To provide internal and external assurance to committees and the board lead the quarterly assurance reporting processes and assist with the bi-annual governance statement.
Lead a team of Risk Business Partners and Internal Auditors.
The management of the assurance framework (three lines of defence and ongoing ISO 27001 certification) and audit programme.
Offer guidance and support to managers on the key risk and control issues within their business processes and support continuous improvement initiatives.
Accountable for Risk Management programme as directed by senior leaders.
Conduct regular risk register reviews, aggregate corporate risks as necessary and advise senior leaders on high risks identified by audits and compliance activity.
Produce reports and supporting guidance to enable the Board to set the risk appetite.
Be the point of contact for risk escalation, risk transfer and liaise with clients where our organisation has a bearing on their risk and mitigation measures.
Offer guidance and support to managers on the key risk and control issues within their business processes and support continuous improvement initiatives.
Represent the company at cross government groups and forums.

The Person
Previous experience working as a Risk & Assurance Manager.
Professional qualifications or relevant experience in Risk Management, Internal Controls, Audit, ISO 27001, Corporate Governance, anti-fraud/bribery, and compliance procedures.
Experience in managing a small team in a challenging and flexible environment.
Excellent negotiating and influencing skills.
Ability to lead the implementation of strategy, policies, standards, systems, and culture.
Ability to develop and deliver training.
Experience of implementing change management.
