Superintendent Security Operations

Our client seeks a Superintendent Security Operations to maintain the safety and security of the company’s people, products, assets, and equipment during the specific shift and is viewed as the most senior line of supervision for security operations.
The post holder will delegate tasks and schedule shifts to the security staff, assist mine employees / contractors and visitors with their inquiries and concerns, and direct them as required.

Supervising all operational activities relating to guarding, drone and response and Command Centre operations on the specific shift. (This role involves shift work).
Ensuring that all activities are carried out in accordance with legislation and Security policies and procedures.
Coordinate, monitor and respond where and when appropriate to front-line security related incidents.
Providing specialist advice and guidance to team members to ensure that responses are delivered within appropriate policies and legislation and achieve the best possible outcomes.
Ensuring compliance by security service providers with all SLA provisions relating to staff, equipment, and vehicles.
Ensuring that the Command Centre is effective in supporting all security activities on the site during the shift.
Conducting regular patrols and security inspections for assigned facilities.
Maintaining good relations between the Service Provider, the team, and other stakeholders regarding security services rendered.
Ensuring that contractual requirements are met as stipulated in the requisite SLAs.
Constantly evaluating the service levels provided and making recommendations to the Management and the Service provider regarding the improvement of services.

The Person

  • Minimum of 5 years of working experience within law enforcement, emergency services, or private enterprise security operations. Experience within a mining environment beneficial.
  • Minimum of 2 years of leadership experience as a Senior Supervisor, preferably in security and protection services.
  • Private Security Regulatory Authority (PSIRA) as Grade.
  • Working knowledge of the Firearm Act and Firearm competency for business purposes.
  • Strong fluency with MS Office.
  • Proven track record in developing policies, procedures, and SOP. Good understanding of security management statutory obligations, requirements, and dynamics.
  • Grade 12 and National Diploma in Police Management / Security Management.
  • Driver’s license.
  • Must be SA Passport Holder.
