This is an exceptional opportunity to work for our client, a global tech organisation who seek an experienced Cyber Security Engineer to provide best practice guidance and implement technical solutions across a range of network environments. In this exciting role the Cyber Security Engineer will be responsible for planning, implementing, managing, monitoring, and upgrading security measures for the protection of the organisation’s data, systems, and networks.

The Role:

  • This is a dedicated Cyber Security Engineer role within a small but rapidly growing team with exposure to lots of exciting projects dedicated to corporate and devops environments.
  • The post holder will be the specific Cyber Security point of contact.
  • Analyse security systems and seek improvements on a continuous basis.
  • Ensuring that the organisation’s data and infrastructure are protected by enabling the appropriate security controls.
  • Creating and maintaining technical documentation and knowledge base.
  • Testing and identifying network and system vulnerabilities.
  • Ensuring systems are compliant with security accreditations.
  • Responding to all system and/or network security breaches.
  • Troubleshooting security and network problems.
  • Creating and maintaining technical documentation and knowledge base.
  • Testing and identifying network and system vulnerabilities.
  • Any additional tasks to ensure the success of the role and support to the IT business unit.
The Person:
  • Previous experience in a similar role working as a Cyber Security Engineer / Analyst within government cyber security with knowledge of Cyber Security best practice.
  • Identity and Access Management, Network Security, Data Security, Digital Security, Cyber Security in a virtualisation environment.
  • Full working knowledge of Office 365/Azure Security.
  • Full working knowledge UK Government Security Standards & Classifications.
  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment and to manage multiple tasks and priorities.
  • Strong attention to detail with an analytical mind and outstanding problem-solving skills.
  • Awareness of the latest cyber security trends and hacking techniques.
  • DevSecOps / Software Development environments, implementing/Managing SIEM & SOC solutions.
  • At least 2 years of cyber security experience.
  • Certifications such as CISSP, GSEC, CEH or CISM desired.
  • The ability to undertake Security Clearance requirements: - SC (DV Capable)/UK National
